Artificial breeding of finless porpoise ＂Beibei＂ returns to natural waters

　　　　　　 CCTV News:On July 6th, Beibei, the offspring of the world’s first finless porpoise reared in artificial cages, was released into the natural waters in the old Yangtze River in Swan Island.

　　　　　　 The finless porpoise "Beibei" is the first successful offspring of finless porpoise reared in artificial cages in the world. After four years of captivity in artificial cages, "Beibei" is very healthy. Since June 1st this year, Tianezhou Dolphin Reserve has carried out wild training for the finless porpoise "Beibei" in artificial cages, and on June 12th, "Beibei" was transferred to the natural purse seine of the old course of the Yangtze River to prepare for the final return of natural waters. On July 6th, "Beibei" was released into the natural waters of the old Yangtze River in Swan Island.

　　　　　　 In the next step, the staff of the reserve will continue to monitor the behavior, survival and health of the finless porpoise Beibei to help the finless porpoise further adapt to the living environment in natural waters.
