Chongqing Zoo: The newborn panda baby is full moon!
Xinhua News Agency, Chongqing, August 6 (Reporter Zhou Wenchong) The reporter learned from Chongqing Zoo on the 6 th that at 14: 12 on July 6, 2023, the giant panda "Mangzai" in Chongqing Zoo successfully gave birth to a male baby. This is the third time that Mangzai has successfully given birth.
On August 6th, the newborn panda baby was full moon, and Chongqing Zoo announced the birth for the first time. In March this year, Mangzai, a giant panda, naturally mated with Jinke, a giant panda, at the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center. On July 6th this year, Mangzai’s baby was born, weighing 191g, which is the heaviest panda born in Chongqing Zoo.

Since the birth of the baby giant panda, it has been fed by the "Mangzai" in the delivery room, and the staff has carried out appropriate artificial assistance in the early stage. At present, "Mangzai" has plenty of milk, and the baby’s weight has increased rapidly, and now it has reached 1439 grams.
This is the third time that the giant panda Mangzai has successfully given birth to a baby. For the first time in 2019, she successfully gave birth to twin sisters "Xixi" and "Phoebe"; The second time in 2021, she successfully gave birth to twin brothers "Star" and "Chenchen".

Chongqing Zoo began to breed giant pandas in the 1960s, and began to breed giant panda cubs in the 1980s. As of August 6, 2023, Chongqing Zoo has given birth to 31 giant pandas, and now there are 22 giant pandas.
