　　　　　　　 "Mengka," which debuted at the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival on the 16th. The film, directed by the Taiwanese director Niu Chengze, is full of "nostalgia for youthful growth." Since its release in Taiwan on Feb. 5, it has been a huge hit, and the box office is currently close to 200 million Taiwan dollars. The director Niu Chengze said at a news conference on the 16th that the commercial blockbuster, which combines youthful growth and underworld gang fighting, was originally positioned to "revive Taiwan’s film industry and bring audiences back to the cinema." He said he was often confused that Taiwanese films are not accepted by audiences in Taiwan, where famous directors such as Hou Hsiao-hsien and Yang Dechang have achieved high artistic achievements, but their works are far from the audience. He said that the decision to make a film was triggered by a variety of factors, such as feelings and trust in the story and subject matter. From the beginning, he was confident and had a strong enthusiasm. He felt that "Monga" would be a good movie, a movie with Taiwanese colors, which was the most important thing.
