Chengxiang Zhong: The TV series "Heart House" gave me three thoughts.

The audience’s praise is mainly to affirm that the works touch the reality of real life, "grounded", "lively" and "upright", the artistic details are vivid and touching, and the acting skills of actors Christina and Tanya are just right; Some viewers also criticized the works on the Internet for their low style, and the male and female characters described were "wrong love" with limited perspectives. It is a good thing that a TV series is hotly debated and causes contention. Let a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend, which is the right way for the prosperity and development of literature and art.
However, in my opinion, Heart Residence gives us valuable inspiration in creation and has a unique position and value.
First of all, Heart Residence reminds me of another controversial TV play, naked wedding, which was also directed by Huatao Teng more than ten years ago. It is obvious that naked wedding was upgraded to Heart Residence, during which the value pursuit was sublimated. "Naked marriage and humble abode", the place of physical safety is simple and narrow; Those who "live in peace of mind" have peace of mind in my hometown. The former refers to matter; The latter means spirit. This points out the different value orientations of the two works from the theme. It should be admitted that the descriptions of real life in these two works are both true, and they can be attributed to the first level mentioned by the famous scholar Mr. Qian Zhongshu when he analyzed the aesthetic grade of literary and artistic works in "Talking about Arts", that is, the works of seeking truth from facts. However, although truth is the basis of aesthetic creation, it is not everything and the highest goal of aesthetic creation. Because of blind pursuit of truth, it loses goodness and beauty, that is, it falls into the quagmire of naturalism. Therefore, Mr. Qian Zhongshu went on to say that the higher level of aesthetic creation is to "conquer nature" on the basis of "the law of nature", that is, to criticize the truth of "the law of nature" aesthetically and judge the moral right and wrong for goodness; Then, on the basis of seeking truth from the nature of things and seeking goodness from the nature of things, we can achieve the goal of "reaching the sky with the heart" and seeking beauty.That is, the aesthetic ideal of the writer and artist’s creative subject "heart" and the object "heaven" are interlinked and unified, so as to achieve the harmonious unity of truth, goodness and beauty. In "Living in Heart", Feng Xiaoqin, played by Christina, and Gu Qingyu, played by Tanya, are entangled in the contradiction around "living in heart", which not only truly presents their spiritual trajectory of facing life directly, but also truly reveals their perseverance and unremitting pursuit of goodness and beauty. Just listen carefully to the theme song of the same name in Heart Residence, and its ideological taste and aesthetic style are vividly on the paper.
Second, the successful creative practice of Heart Residence has inspired us that we should rightfully and clearly correct the name of the "theory of intermediate characters".
There is a philosophical passage about Gu Qingyu’s biography in Xinju: "Life is not black or white." "I don’t agree with you, and I can’t even forgive you, but I’m beginning to understand you." "Persistence and compromise, differences and consensus are sometimes not contradictory. Existence may not be reasonable, but it is often reasonable. Those gray areas that are hard to say may be the real life. " All the characters in Heart Residence, except the double heroines Feng Xiaoqin and Gu Qingyu, are Gu Shihong, Gu Lei, Feng Qianqian, Zhan Xiang, Shi Yuan, Su Wangdi, Ge Yue … … Neither a hero nor a bad guy. They are all out-and-out "middle people", that is, "all sentient beings". It is these "middle figures" that have propped up 35 episodes of the drama "Heart Residence".
This reminds us of an argument in China’s literary theory criticism in the early 1960s. As a result, there was criticism.
Now "Heart Residence" once again proves eloquently that in the new era, Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s literary and artistic creation should adhere to the people-centered, so it is necessary to eulogize and portray the heroic typical and the negative typical, and also to confidently write the history of spiritual changes for a large number of middle figures. In this way, we can grasp life comprehensively and dialectically, and practice the people-centered creative direction completely. Feng Xiaoqin, the daughter-in-law who married from Anhui to Shanghai, is eager to have a "heart home" of "this peace of mind is my hometown", and there is nothing wrong with it. She is a daughter-in-law, a wife and a mother, and she is diligent and busy in taking care of her family. After her husband Gu Lei died unexpectedly, she was at a loss for a time, but soon found her own coordinate to face life in the new era of life — — First, take-away food was delivered, and then Zhanxiang investment was obtained to create a "no-go" nursing home in the community and make continuous progress in her career. In the end, she regrets that the "heart house" built by herself despite Gu Qingyu’s funding is just "why not have a big room and a few flowers", but she is relieved! However, the cognitive value and aesthetic value contained in this artistic image should not be underestimated.Her enlightenment to the lives of all sentient beings and ordinary audiences should not be underestimated. Gu Qingyu looks like a successful person in her career, but her emotional life is a little infatuated and childish. Her infatuation with her childhood "Prince Charming" is a little cute but far from reality. Her "flash marriage" to Shi Yuan due to the revival of old feelings and "divorce" due to the harsh reality, I am afraid that young people and ordinary audiences who have had similar ups and downs in life will also have enlightenment in life. As for Gu Lei, Feng Qianqian, Zhan Xiang, Shi Yuan and Ge Yue, many of them are not heroes with distinct personalities and different experiences. They all belong to the middle, but which one’s life experience and spiritual track are not full of human fireworks, so that people can not sit in the right place and see their own figure and soul?
Therefore, the creative practice of "Heart Residence" enlightens the literary and artistic creation circles: while focusing on the typical heroes and villains, we must never forget to aim at a large number of intermediate characters. "Heart Residence" also enlightens the literary theory critics: We should clearly sort out the correct theoretical propositions that have been wrongly criticized, such as "the theory of intermediate characters", set things right, and make Socialism with Chinese characteristics literature and art more healthy and prosperous in the new era!
Third, after watching "Heart Residence", I naturally think of "In the World" which has just been hit. Needless to say, both dramas have touched the sensitive zone of the aesthetic nerves of the audience, thus arousing the emotional resonance of the society. However, comparing the two, it seems that the depth and breadth of the reflection on the times and social life, the spiritual height and the thickness of cultural implications of the work are slightly inferior to those of In the World.
What is the reason? After thinking about it for a long time, I think it is right to focus on the middle characters in the lens of Heart Residence. However, throughout the whole drama, all the characters are in the "gray zone", and it seems that there is a lack of Do not forget your initiative mind who lives in the spiritual highland like Zhou Bingyi in The World, remembers the mission and is dedicated to the people (of course, there are also characters such as Governor Hao and Secretary Qu in the World to jointly create the spiritual highland of the whole drama) to lead the value. It is not to say that similar heroic images must be added in Heart Residence. On the contrary, as a new era of Socialism with Chinese characteristics literature and art, we should strive to combine the spirit of realism with romantic feelings, and illuminate the realistic road with ideal brilliance. At least, people like Feng Xiaoqin and Gu Qingyu, from the "gray zone" to the bright future, should be strengthened. This is not to artificially elevate them, but to try to melt writers and artists’ grasp of the spirit of the times and the trend of history into the exquisite characters. At the same time, in Heart Residence, there is also a lack of negative characters like Yao Lisong, whose corruption has fallen in the world, which plays a shocking warning role. Life and things are revealed in the comparison between two poles and the transition between them. This is the peak requirement of aesthetic creation, which is difficult, but we must advance despite difficulties!
Here, the creative practice of "Heart Residence" actually inspires us from the philosophical level: we must abandon the creative thinking of binary opposition, black and white, right and left, and one-way value-taking, which has long restricted and influenced the creation in the past, or only emphasize the creation of heroes and villains, or indulge in describing the middle characters in the "gray zone" and exclude the leading role of heroes and the warning role of villains; We must learn to hold both ends, pay attention to the middle, and think in a comprehensive and dialectical way, grasp the aesthetic object completely and climb the peak of creation. This change in creative thinking at the philosophical level is the most fundamental change and is crucial to promoting the healthy and prosperous literary and artistic creation in the new era.
