Technical interpretation of upgrading the new Accord plug-in version as expected

The new car equipped with this system is officially called "Accord e:PHEV" (hereinafter referred to as "the new Accord plug-in hybrid version"). In addition to the update of the power system, the configuration of the new generation Accord has also been upgraded in an all-round way. Today, I will take a detailed look at some technical details of this new car to see if it is still competitive in the extremely involuted new energy vehicle market in China.
● The fourth generation i-MMD dual-motor plug-in hybrid power system
The power system of the new Accord plug-in hybrid version does not copy the system of the old Accord hybrid version, but adopts the latest fourth-generation i-MMD dual-motor plug-in hybrid system. This system has undergone drastic changes in structure, and has been comprehensively improved in terms of operating efficiency and power output.
As for the engine, the new Accord plug-in version still uses the 2.0L naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle engine, but the engine has been fully upgraded in configuration, adopting direct injection in the cylinder, supporting multi-stage fuel injection technology (which can improve the emission index), and the compression ratio has been further improved to 13.9:1, with the highest thermal efficiency reaching 41%.
Although the engine of the new Accord plug-in version has been optimized, its compression ratio and thermal efficiency parameters can only be regarded as the mainstream level in today’s China market. After all, China brand manufacturers have made remarkable progress in engine technology in recent years. The following table compares the parameters of Guangqi Chuanqi 4B20L1 engine (applied to Shadow Leopard) and Guangqi Honda LFB19 engine.
At the same time, the power of the driving motor and the engine is output through independent gears, which can adjust the transmission ratio of the driving motor or the engine to the wheels independently, so as to better match the power of the driving motor and the engine and improve the working efficiency of the hybrid system. This adjustment makes the maximum speed of motor drive reach 175km/h, which expands the application range of electric drive system.
The maximum speed of the drive motor of the new Accord plug-in version is increased from the original 13000rpm to 14500rpm, and the torque is also increased from the original 315 Nm to 335 Nm, which has improved the work efficiency and power.
As the first plug-in hybrid car of Guangben, the new Accord plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a ternary lithium-ion battery with large capacity for the first time. Therefore, engineers have configured a newly developed temperature control system for this system. This temperature control system can cooperate with the vehicle air conditioning system, and use air conditioning to cool and heat to adjust the temperature of the power battery, so that the battery can always work at a suitable temperature, thus ensuring that the discharge power of the battery will not drop and the battery life will not plummet due to the temperature drop.
Compared with the design that most competing products at the same level can’t put down the rear seats, the new Accord hybrid rear seats can be put down as a whole, so that the passenger compartment and the trunk can be connected and the depth of storage in the trunk can be increased. On the whole, although the new Accord hybrid trunk has an obvious step, its storage space flexibility still has certain advantages compared with competing products, which is not unrelated to the Japanese tradition of paying attention to the details of use.
● Brand new body structure
The body structure of the new Accord has been redesigned, and its design follows the design concept of "high rigidity, light weight and low center of gravity". The proportion of hot-formed section steel (tensile strength is 1500MPa or above) of car body is as high as 8.8%, which is used in A-pillar, B-pillar and sill beam.
In order to further improve the torsional rigidity and collision safety performance of the car body, the new Accord optimizes the structural adhesive range of the car body, and strengthens the structures such as the car body cross beam, the door sill and the roof cross beam, so as to meet the highest safety standards of current and future regulations and collision testing institutions.
From the actual driving experience, the new Accord plug-in version has compact steering performance, good body follow-up, and is also comfortable in continuous corners. At the same time, the chassis driving quality and handling performance of the new car have been improved, which is mainly due to the ADS adaptive suspension system to be introduced next.
● Add ADS adaptive suspension system.
In terms of suspension system, the new Accord plug-in version is consistent with the ordinary fuel version, which adopts the suspension combination of former McPherson and rear E-type multi-link. The same type of suspension has been adopted on the previous generation Accord, and the adjustment is very mature. The new Accord plug-in hybrid model will be equipped with ADS adaptive suspension system, which is an active suspension system developed based on CDC variable damping shock absorber.
Similar systems will generally be installed on vehicles with a price above 300,000-400,000 yuan. It is considered as a high-end technology decentralization to install this configuration on the new Accord, which also reflects the fierce competition in China market.
